Truecaller has introduced a free AI-driven voicemail service for Android users in India.
It features transcription and spam protection.
This new voicemail option utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to automatically transcribe messages from callers when a call isn’t answered.
Unlike traditional voicemail, Truecaller’s version keeps voice messages stored on the device for privacy.
Additionally, Truecaller’s AI voicemail will include features like smart call categorization, spam filtering, and adjustable playback speed.
All Truecaller users can activate the voicemail for free in just a few minutes.
With Truecaller Voicemail, users can easily record, store, and play back messages right on their device, without the need to dial voicemail numbers or remember any PINs.
The feature supports 12 Indian languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Nepali, Punjabi, Sanskrit, and Urdu.
“With Truecaller Voicemail, we’re totally changing the game for how voice messages are used in daily life – making them free, built right into your device, and smoothly integrated into your calling experience”, said Rishit Jhunjhunwala, CEO of Truecaller.
“By allowing on-device storage, instant transcription, spam protection, and support for a variety of Indian languages, we’re eliminating the hassles and restrictions of old systems. This is a move towards creating a more inclusive, user-friendly, and reliable communication layer – one that aligns with how people actually communicate today”, he continued.
The Stockholm-based firm has been steadily enhancing its footprint in India, a crucial market plagued by online spam and scams.
