India’s Arjun Babuta and Elavenil Valarivan clinched the gold medal in the 10m air rifle mixed team event at the 16th Asian Shooting Championship held in Shymkent on Saturday, August 23, 2025.

Elavenil snagged her second gold medal in the event after coming out on top in the women’s 10m air rifle competition.

The Indian duo dominated over China’s Dingke Lu and Xinlu Peng with a score of 17-11, securing the top spot on the podium.

Although the Chinese pair started strong in the first round, the Indians, who stumbled initially with scores of 9.5 and 10.1, rallied back impressively in the subsequent rounds to win the gold.

Before that, the Indian team of Babuta, Rudrankksh Patil, and Kiran Jadhav secured the gold in the men’s 10m air rifle event.
