When viewers might expect to see the Upside Down again has officially been confirmed by Netflix. Season 5 of Stranger Things will debut on November 26 and will be divided into three volumes for the first time.

The last season of the popular sci-fi series will be released in stages, as revealed during Netflix’s Tudum fan event in Los Angeles: The series finale will be released on New Year’s Eve, while Volume 2 will be available on Christmas Day. There will be eight episodes in the entire season.

Stranger things last season – Divided into three volumes

The Duffer Brothers have promised a spectacular finale to the story of Hawkins, Indiana, where circumstances have been anything but typical. “We spent a full year filming this season. By the end, we’d captured over 650 hours of footage”, Ross Duffer said, adding, “so, needless to say, this is our biggest and most ambitious season yet. It’s like eight blockbuster movies”.

Netflix appears confident despite the fact that many viewers have conflicting opinions about the split-season approach. Earlier this year, Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria made a suggestion that divided volumes would become more popular, but she has avoided answering direct questions regarding the format.

Season 5 begins in the autumn of 1987, over a year after Vecna opened a portal to the Upside Down in the thrilling Season 4 finale.New characters joining the cast are Linda Hamilton, Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux. Returning favorites include Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, and others — with Jamie Campbell Bower reprising his role as the sinister Vecna.

The following episode names have been hinted at thus far: “The Crawl”, “The Vanishing of _“,”The Turnbow Trap”, “Sorcerer”, “Shock Jock” ,”Escape From Camazotz”, “The Bridge”, and “The Rightside Up”. Speculation over who or what vanishes is fueled by the second title’s continued redaction.

The cast and crew had an emotional journey, and filming ended in December. Matt Duffer stated, “We have been working together on this show for nearly a decade.” “A lot of people were crying. So much crying was going on. For all of us, the show is extremely meaningful.

Even though Stranger Things’ current season will be its last, other stories centered in the universe are already planned. However, don’t anticipate them anytime soon.
