On Monday, Aravind Srinivas, the CEO of Perplexity, announced that Comet, their AI browser, will soon be accessible to Pro subscribers in India.

In his announcement,Perplexity’s CEO Aravind Srinivas mentioned that the AI search engine will be up for pre-order on Android, but the Google Play Store currently doesn’t show a release date. The Apple App Store is in the same boat, lacking any details about a launch.

Perplexity introduced Comet in July 2025, aiming at users who rely on the internet for work, research, and various other activities.

This new browser is powered by Perplexity’s AI search engine.

Comet Assistant is a tool within the search engine that, true to its name, acts like an AI helper to automate everyday tasks.

It can handle all your tabs, summarize your emails and calendar events, and browse different web pages for you.

One of the ways Perplexity Comet stands out from other web browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge is its unique workspace feature, which allows you to access all the info you need without dealing with a tabbed interface.

Plus, this AI-driven browser keeps tabs on what you’ve read, what you’re currently working on, and what you’re viewing to suggest relevant content.

AI sidebar can function as an agent too. By simply giving the AI assistant text commands, users can buy products, set up meetings, or convert a webpage into an email and send it off.

Looking ahead, Perplexity plans to enhance the browser’s capabilities even further.
