West Indies batted first after Scotland opted to field. They set a solid total of 182 for 5.

Openers Brandon King (35 runs off 30 balls) and Shai Hope (19 runs off 22 balls) struggled to make a significant impact early on as Scotland’s bowlers maintained tight lines during the first six overs.

During the powerplay ( first 6 overs), their bowlers were really disciplined and tight, limiting West Indies to 33/0 – effectively keeping the openers in check with solid line and length.

Scotland Michael Leask made a significant impact by getting the West Indies captain Shai Hope out early, which helped slow down the scoring in the middle overs.

Oliver Davidson also picked up an important wicket, getting rid of Brandon King.

It was Shimron Hetmyer who shifted the game’s momentum. He delivered a powerful innings, blasting 64 runs off just 36 balls and steadied the middle overs with his aggressive batting that significantly boosted the run rate.

Rovman Powell added a quick 24 runs off 14 balls to keep the scoring pace up. Sherfane Rutherford lit up the end of the innings with 26 off 13, helping West Indies accelerate during the death overs.

Brad Currie, Scotland’s standout bowler. He took 2 wickets, breaking partnerships and stepping up at crucial times.

With a target of 183 runs to defend, Scotland faced an early blow in their chase, losing both openers, Brandon McMullen and Michael Jones.

Jason Holder got Jones (1) in the second over, giving West Indies the upper hand.

West Indies held Scotland to just 147 in 18.5 overs.

McMullen (14) fell to Romario Shepherd in the fifth over. Then, a stunning one-handed catch from Shimron Hetmyer in the sixth over sent George Munsey packing for 19 off 15 balls.

Romario Shepherd claimed four wickets in the 17th over, including a hat-trick, which sent Scotland tumbling after they seemed poised to pull off an upset during the middle overs of their chase.

He took out Matthew Cross (11), Michael Leask (0), and Oliver Davidson (0) for his hat-trick.

Richie Berrington (42 off 24 balls) kicked things off with a strong start, hitting at a fast pace and keeping Scotland alive in the game.

Jason Holder then halted Scotland’s momentum by getting rid of Berrington in the 15th over.

George Munsey (19 runs off 15 balls) provided a quick cameo but was dismissed by Shamar Joseph.

Scotland ended up at 147/8 in 18.5 overs, unable to reach the target as the chase slipped away from them.

West Indies sealed a comfortable victory over Scotland with a strong all-round performance.
