Google Photos, the well-known cloud storage, editing, and sharing platform, is rolling out a new feature that lets users create their own memes.

Named “Me Meme”, this AI-driven feature was initially discovered back in October of last year, but the company has now officially revealed it on its Photos Community site.

The New Me Meme feature enables users to “make funny, personalized images” that can be shared with friends and family.

The generated images “might not perfectly resemble the original photo” because this functionality is still in the experimental phase.

For the best outcomes, users are encouraged to upload photos that are well-lit, focused, and taken from the front.

How Can You Use It?

• To access Google Photos’ Me Meme feature, open the app, tap on Create at the bottom bar, and select Me Meme.
• Next, pick a template you like, choose the photo you want to upload, and hit Generate.
• Once the meme is created, you can tap the save button or use the ‘Regenerate’ option to create another one.

Additionally, Google Photos will show new users a quick introduction screen.

This feature is currently being rolled out to users in the United States, with a Google representative informing TechCrunch that it will be available to US iOS and Android users in the “upcoming weeks”.
