India defeated Sri Lanka by 30 runs in the 4th T20 International on Sunday(December 28,2025) in Thiruvananthapuram thanks to an amazing world record set by Smriti Mandhana.

Match Summary

After being asked to bat first, India set a huge total of 221 for 2 wicket in 20 overs at the Greenfield International Stadium thanks to outstanding performances by Mandhana and Shafali Verma.

The pair formed a record 162-run partnership, the highest for any wicket for India in Women’s T20Is.

Smriti scored 80 runs off 48 balls, while Shafali Verma hit 79 off 46 balls.

Additionally, Mandhana broke Mithali Raj’s record to become the fastest player to reach 10,000 international runs in terms of innings.

In their chase, Sri Lanka put up a good fight but could only manage 191 for 6 wickets, despite a solid fifty from captain Chamari Athapaththu.

This gave India a 4-0 lead in the five-match series.
