Someone who makes mistakes often struggles to acknowledge their errors. However, they can escape any tricky situation if they heed wiser counsel. It’s important for a person to listen to their partner’s advice. In the Yaksha Prashna from the Mahabharata, when the Yaksha asked Yudhisthira who the best companion for a man is, Yudhisthira stated that a man’s wife is always a significant source of support. If the wife has a noble spirit, what more could a man desire? If she doesn’t, what is there left for him in life?.

It was explained in detail in another narrative. In a talk, Trichy Sri Kalyanaraman mentioned that Tara, who is Vaali’s wife, warned him when Vaali’s brother Sugreeva challenged him to a rematch. She revealed that she had learned Sugreeva was friends with someone named Rama.Tara pointed out that Rama’s brothers are essential to him, like the air we breathe. He handed over the kingdom to Bharatha, who ruled on behalf of his brother Rama. But then she said, “you’re about to go to war with your own brother”. When Rama shot Vaali with an arrow from behind, Vaali confronted Rama about his actions and had a dispute with him. Vaali claimed that others should learn and adhere to dharma, but it runs in your veins. Rama responded by saying that you kidnapped your brother Sugreeva’s wife and also fought against your brother, who had submitted to you. You have violated all the principles of dharma and deserve punishment.

After going back and forth with arguments, Vaali acknowledged his wrongdoings. He mentioned that Rama’s arrow not only struck his heart but also cleansed him. Vaali added that in his final moments, Rama not only washed away his sins but also purified his spirit. He told his brother Sugreeva, “Rama granted you the kingdom, but he blessed me with the eternal joy of moksha”.
