Surrey Cricket Club, which hosts their home games at this London venue, posted pictures on Instagram. Two legendary cricket memorabilia items have been displayed at The Oval’s museum.

In their Instagram post, Surrey Cricket shared, “Dive into the rich history of the Kia Oval as it celebrates its 180th anniversary. Check out Virat Kohli’s gloves from the match; Take a walk through the Long Room; Soak in the stunning views of London; Stop by the broadcast centre; And there’s plenty more to see”.

The first collector’s item is Virat Kohli’s gloves from the ODI match between India and England in July 2022. The right glove features a signature from the legendary Indian batter along with the date. On the left glove, it says, “To the Oval Museum, Best Wishes”.

The museum’s second “must-see” item is a signed jersey from Sachin Tendulkar. It features the inscription, “Sachin Tendulkar, Indian Test captain, 200 Test matches, 15,921 runs, 51 centuries”.

Kohli was supposed to have the chance to play at The Oval in the English County in 2018, but he had to withdraw due to a neck injury.

Kohli, who was set to play for Surrey CCC in June, has been excluded from participating.

This choice was made after evaluations by the BCCI Medical team, followed by scans and a visit to a specialist,” a BCCI press release mentioned back then”.

The County experience was seen as a way for the right-hander to gear up for the 2018 series in England. In the end, Kohli’s India faced a tough defeat, losing 4-1 in the five-match series.

On the other hand, Tendulkar played nine games at The Oval during his cricket career. Across the four Tests and five ODIs he participated in at that venue, he accumulated 481 runs with an average of 43.72.
