The 26th Asian Athletics Championships saw India’s 4×400-meter men’s relay team, which included Rince Joseph, Dharmveer Choudhary, Manu Thekkinalil Saji, and Mohit Kumar dominate the heat on Thursday, May 29, 2025, with their best-ever performance.

The quartet’s time of 3:06.28 seconds will place them in lane five for the final later that evening.

India secured straight qualification by defeating both China (3:06.79) and Korea (3:10.05) in the heats.

China, Kazakhstan, and Sri Lanka are among the top contenders in the final roster; Sri Lanka has the fastest time of the season (3:01.56).

In the women’s 10,000-meter final, Sanjeevani Jadhav of India finished fifth with a season-best time of 33:08.17 seconds, closely followed by Seema in sixth place with 33:08.23 seconds.

Two gold, four silver, and two bronze medals are among the eight podium finishes India has achieved thus far at the continental showcase.
