Automatic Topic Tracking

Users can activate the feature with simple prompts such as “keep me updated on” or “alert me when” directly within AI Mode.

Once enabled, the AI agent continuously monitors the web for new developments related to the selected topic.

When relevant information appears, it automatically delivers a concise summary, keeping users informed without requiring repeated searches.

How It Works In Practice

Google demonstrated the technology with a range of practical examples, from apartment hunting to product launches.

For renters, users can specify their preferences and let an AI agent monitor new listings on their behalf.

The agent continuously scans for properties that match the selected criteria.

Once a suitable listing becomes available, it automatically sends an alert.

Google also showcased a sports-focused example, where an agent tracks athlete announcements and notifies users about new sneaker collaborations, signature shoe releases, and other related updates.

Google’s new Search Agents use reasoning capabilities to determine what information matters and when users should be notified. Rather than relying on fixed schedules, they can intelligently monitor changes and surface updates when they become relevant.
