Pakistan and Netherlands faced off in the ICC Men’s World Cup 2026 on Saturday(February 7, 2026), at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.
Faheem Ashraf helped Pakistan out of a difficult situation by leading the team to a three-wicket victory with an undefeated 29 runs off just 11 balls.

Earlier,Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Batting first, Scott Edwards made 37 runs off 29 balls, marking the highest score for the Netherlands. Bas de Leede added 30 runs from 25 balls.
Salman Mirza achieved the best bowling figures of the match with 3 wickets for 24 runs.
Abrar Ahmed and Mohammad Nawaz each took 2 wickets, which helped to limit the Netherlands scoring.
The Netherlands managed to score a solid total of 147.
Pakistan started off strong in their chase of 148, thanks to a solid beginning during the powerplay from Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, and Salman Agha.
Sahibzada Farhan scored 47 runs off 31 balls, giving Pakistan a strong start.
Things took a turn in the middle overs when Babar’s introduction slowed down the scoring, resulting in Farhan getting out unexpectedly for 47 runs.
Babar then lost his wicket too, and shortly after, Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz followed him back to the pavilion, leaving Faheem and Shaheen to carry the team forward.
Faheem, the left-hander, showcased his talent in the 19th over, he played a heroic finishing knock, remaining not out on 29 runs off just 11 balls, leading Pakistan to victory under pressure.
Pakistan won by 3 wickets.
For Netherlands, Paul van Meekeren took 2 wickets for 20 runs, making a significant impact as a bowler.
Aryan Dutt also took 2 wickets for 33 runs, causing problems for Pakistan’s top order.
