Bhoomi Chauhan, who lives in Bharuch, Gujarat, had a close call on Thursday when she didn’t get on Air India flight 171 – the Boeing 787-8 that tragically crashed later, claiming the lives of all 241 individuals on board, including 12 crew members.
She relocated to London two years back on a study visa and is now in India, is expressing her gratitude to God and her lucky stars for avoiding the tragic Air India flight that went down in Ahmedabad, as she was caught in traffic and arrived at the airport late.
Chauhan shared her story, “We got to the check-in gate 10 minutes late, but they wouldn’t let me in, so I had to turn back. They mentioned it would hold up the flight even more. I was running late due to traffic in the Ahmedabad city area. When I found out that the flight had crashed, I was completely in shock. I’m grateful to my mother Goddess for keeping me safe, but the whole situation is just horrifying”.
Chauhan’s mother credited her daughter’s survival to the blessings of the Mother Goddess, stating, “We are grateful to Mother Goddess for keeping my daughter safe. It is entirely due to the blessings of the Mother Goddess that she left her child with me; she is here because of that”.

According to Chauhan’s father, they arrived at the airport late due to heavy traffic, and even though they begged to catch the aircraft, they were turned away. “Due to traffic, we got at the airport late. They refused to grant our request. We learned that the jet had crashed as soon as we exited the airport”.
The AI 171 flight to London, which crashed shortly after taking off Thursday afternoon from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, was only ten minutes delay, according to Chauhan.
Some times,Delay can also be a blessing. It saved Bhoomi Chauhan life.
